Sonamarg is also popular as Sonmarg. Hidden in the 'Paradise on Earth', the destination is noted for its abundant natural beauty. The name Sonamarg means 'Meadow of Gold'. By Air: Tourists having flying taste can reach Srinagar airport. This is the closest airport and is around 70 km away from the destination.
By Rail: Srinagar railhead connects the region with Udhampur and Jammu Tawi, which further connect the region with rest of the country.
By Road: Sonamarg is well-connected with all the nearby cities. Tourists can use the services of state transports or can hire private vehicle to reach Sonamarg. Special luxurious buses are also operated  by private service providers from Jammu and Srinagar to Sonamarg.
